Battle of Rande

Welcome friends:

Derportiva and Cultural Association of Rande, was created in 2003, is an association of neighbors of Rande-Cabanas, located in the Rias Baixas, in the province of Pontevedra, Galicia, Spain.

Rande is a place where there was the famous Battle of Rande, also called the Battle of Vigo. In 1702 they faced in the strait of the river the Anglo-Netherlands and Spain-France in the context of the War of Spanish Succession.

Buried beneath our sands are the remains of a treasure, and the remains of several galleons that participated in that battle.

Over a century later, in 1869, Jules Verne, located on the same stage of this battle the source of supply of gold of the submarine Nautilus in his famous novel 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

Our association organizes various activities every year to pursue in order to increase the participation of all the neighbors, to recover our historical and cultural heritage, customs, and to encourage the practice of sport.

From our website, we aim to inform all our activities and projects, as well as information that will appear in the press about us.

We also intend to open a new channel of communication with all of you and why. we invite you to participate, send us your opinions, input and suggestions on the various issues that we, or others who think that may be of interest
